China #2: The Forbidden City

Hello again!
DAY 2 CONTINUED:
After Tiananmen Square and the garden (see previous post), Kami and I headed to the Forbidden City...also called the Palace Museum. I definitely wasn't prepared for the size of this place....it was gigantic!! There were tons of people there checking out the place along with us! This is certainly one of the biggest tourist attractions in Beijing...for good reason. Here are some shots and a video:
The detail on the temples amazes me...it's so intricate.
This is a stone carving going up to a temple. Crazy to think about someone doing this.
Traditional wear...sexy huh?
This is my favorite shot from the day.
A huge picture of Mao Zedong at the Tiananmen Gate.
All over town, there were young soldiers marching around.

Here is a little video from inside the Forbidden City.
Alright, that's all for now. More to come later!
